Meet the Captain…

Jake Mynier holds a 100 Ton Master Captain License and has a passion for catching fish! Captain Jake, a south Texas native, has fished the waters from the Gulf of Mexico to Alaska and Florida to the Caribbean Sea, finally settling down in Port Aransas which he calls home. Being an avid fisherman, he will ensure you and your party have the trip of a lifetime!


Port Aransas Boatmen’s Association

The Boatmen’s is a non-profit organization, made up of charter boat owners and operators dedicated to providing services to the community of Port Aransas, Texas, in the form of scholarships and youth related activities. The Boatmen have spent untold sums to support community projects in Port Aransas. Among other things, Boatmen help fund a summer reading program for kids; a children’s Christmas program; the Boy Scout troop in Port Aransas; and the local lighted boat parade each holiday season. And the Boatmen still sponsor the Deep Sea Roundup – the oldest fishing tournament on the Texas Gulf coast.  http://www.paboatmen.org/


The Boatmen’s Association is the founder and sponsor of the annual Deep Sea Roundup. The Deep Sea Roundup began in 1932 as the Tarpon Roundup and has grown from a handful of Port Aransas fishing and hunting guides pitting their skills against one another to the largest family fishing tournament on the Texas Gulf Coast. The Roundup attracts fisherpersons of all ages and skill levels. Deep Sea Roundup draws over 800 contestants annually.

Deep Sea Roundup includes Offshore, Bay Surf, Fly Fishing and Junior Division plus a free Piggy Perch contest for the little guys and gals.  http://www.deepsearoundup.com/



The International Game Fish Association (IGFA) is a not-for-profit organization committed to the conservation of game fish and the promotion of responsible, ethical angling practices through science, education, rule making, record keeping and recognition of outstanding accomplishments in the field of angling. The Coastal Conservation Association is a organization of over 100,000 recreational anglers and outdoor enthusiasts working for the conservation and enhancement of our marine resources and coastal environments.

Badfish is a 40’ Ocean Super Sport Yacht with a 14’ beam and tournament-sized cockpit offering a stable fishing platform for several fishermen.  Powered by twin Caterpillar diesels rated at 420 horsepower each and a cruising speed of 24 knots, you are sure to get to the fishing grounds quickly.

If it gets a tad hot, bumpy or a rain shower is encountered, just slip inside to the air conditioned salon where comfortable seating is provided for several persons. Along with a built–in dining area, a full galley complete with a refrigerator, microwave, stove, coffee pot and sink with plenty of fresh water is available for your use. When nature calls or one needs to freshen up, the head is nothing short of a bathroom complete with marine toilet, shower and sink with hot and cold fresh water.  For those who want a view and conversation with the Captain while traveling, check out the flybridge. Seating for several persons is provided In front of the helm as well as port and starboard sides.

Badfish is fully equipped for serious offshore fishing. The latest Furuno electronics include networked GPS, sonar and radar.  The cockpit is fitted with a Pompanette 130 lb fighting chair or a pedestal mounted rocket launcher set to accommodate anglers for the seasonal species sought after. A huge in-deck fish box will keep the catch fresh while refrigerated bait freezer and bait well makes it all happen.

We feature the very best in offshore tackle from light Penn Battle spinning reels to Penn International 30s and 50s to a couple of 130 class bad boys all spooled with top brand mono and/or braid. Rupp triple riggers and center rigger offer the advantage of providing a tremendous display of baits in a spread.
